“In 2019, I moved to Australia for my master’s in marketing, landing in Sydney with big dreams. This wasn’t my first adventure abroad; I had also studied for a Master of Arts in Paris which made me understand the business side of things, further fueling my creativity, preparing me for what lay ahead.

Life as an international student in Australia was challenging yet inspiring. I took on 7 jobs to build a solid resume while immersing myself in Sydney’s diversity. When the pandemic hit in 2020, it turned my world upside down. My mother managed to arrive just before borders closed, & while quarantine kept us apart, having her close brought comfort in an uncertain time.

In 2021, a serious accident changed everything. I fell from a jetty, leaving me in a wheelchair. During recovery, I also went through a painful breakup, which was an emotional & physical blow. I was left broken in pieces & battled emotionally & physically to get back up. Determined to rebuild my strength, I worked as a delivery person for a short span, navigating Sydney’s streets despite my pain which made me realise that no job is big or small, and every shift taught meI joined a new job shortly after, pushing through the pain, and discovered an inner strength I never knew I had.

Suddenly, I found myself alone, far from family, and struggling with newfound limitations. Alongside, I began my influencer journey to connect with others dreaming of studying and thriving abroad. Sharing my story—the highs and the lows—allowed me to inspire a community eager for advice and a glimpse of life in a new country. My content grew, fueled by my passion for travel, culture, and genuine connection.

Australia has become more than just a place to study; it’s my home. Through coastal walks, cooking, and friendships, I found joy in simple things. Every challenge—my accident, studies, work, and personal hurdles—became a stepping stone, teaching me that setbacks are opportunities for growth.” Anushka
