When I moved to Australia from Hyderabad in February 2016, I wasn’t just switching countries, I was chasing safety. I wanted to breathe, to build a life where I felt free and valued.
But the first day broke me. I became homeless. The accommodation I arranged fell through, and I found myself walking with my suitcase, asking strangers at restaurants for a job. Rejected again and again, people told me I’d never get work in my field, that as an international student, I’d have to settle.
Two weeks later, I landed a job as a programmer. I paid off my loans, got promoted within a year, and started dreaming again not just for myself, but for the family I hoped to build.
In 2018, I met my wife at an airport. A casual encounter turned into love. We planned to marry in 2020, but when the borders closed during COVID, I left everything to be with her.
We returned to Australia in 2022, jobless but hopeful. Soon after, we found out we were expecting. It was the happiest and scariest moment of my life. I found a job, but when my wife’s health declined, I made a decision I never imagined: I quit to take care of her full-time.
We were broke, scared, but not broken. Together, we started @mycloudservices . From nothing, we built it up, global clients, a growing team, and a newborn in our arms.
Then came AgRobot, a dream to help small Aussie farmers with affordable robotics.
And then came the hardest day.
Our son, at just one, suffered 80% facial burns in a kitchen accident. The screams still echo in my mind. But he survived, thanks to the @rchmelbourne . That moment changed everything.
That incident sparked something deeper. While working on AgRobot, I decided to channel my innovation toward another mission, InspectorBot. A safety-focused robot designed to assist firefighters by inspecting fire-damaged homes or buildings, providing early warnings and insights that could save lives, both theirs and others.
