“Turning passion into purpose, I built Greenfluence to empower young minds in the fight for sustainability—proving that with the right vision, change is within reach. Through resilience and community, we’ve created a platform that inspires action and drives meaningful impact.

When I first started at KPMG as a fresh graduate, I thought I’d be working in risk advisory, but I ended up in IT auditing. It wasn’t what I expected, but being part of a big organization opened my eyes to new opportunities. That’s when I became more interested in sustainability and climate change. I knew I wanted to make a shift, and after two years, I moved into the sustainability space in 2022. It was a challenging process, but I believed in sustainability as a force for good in business, and that belief kept me going.

Not too long before the move, I started Greenfluence with my friend Maya. We realized there was a lack of resources for young people to learn about sustainability, so we decided to create a platform to fill that gap. Greenfluence began as a podcast, and over the years, it has grown into a community that educates and inspires young people through podcasts, events, and educational programs. Our mission is to educate and equip learners for an impactful career in sustainability.

In August 2023, I left my job at KPMG. It was a tough decision, but I knew it was the right one for me. I wanted to dedicate more time to Greenfluence and find a role that aligned with my passion for sustainability. After some time, I found a new job in the intersection of finance and sustainability space, and it feels like the right fit.

Now, with Greenfluence, we’re focused on expanding our reach and impact. Our goal is to become a leading community in the sustainability space, connecting and empowering young people to learn and ultimately drive change. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m grateful for the opportunities and support that have helped us get here.” Visakhan Vythilingam
